Diversity - for broadcast IP codecs
In diversity mode, a Viprinet multi-channel VPN router supplied and configured by Wired For Sound transmits the same audio data concurrently over all available connections. A paired diversity hub, safely located on the internet backbone, decrypts and forwards your original audio to the IP codec back at your studio.
By providing seamless redundancy, diversity mode ensures the integrity of your audio providing just one of your connected channels works at any instant.
Bonding - for high-speed internet
In bonding mode a Viprinet router sums the bandwidth of all available connections.
Unlike load-balancing routers, where transfer rates are limited to the bandwidth of the fastest connected line, the Viprinet client / server architecture effects control of all lines in both directions enabling true bandwidth-aggregation.
Thus using six 10Mb/s ADSL lines downlink speeds of up to 60Mb/s are possible; whilst with just three 3G HSPA connections, uplink rates of up to 2.5Mb/s can be achieved. |

Wired For Sound offers a brand new solution for your OB that intelligently combines several internet connections to create a single, highly reliable broadband connection.
Our specially configured multi-channel VPN routers from Viprinet™ connect up to six ADSL, ethernet, wireless and 3G HSPA mobile broadband services in any combination.
Used with broadcast audio IP codecs these routers work in diversity mode; used for internet access and file transfers, they work in bonding mode. The Viprinet router automatically selects the appropriate mode depending on the type of traffic and will operate in both modes simultaneously - there’s no need to change settings.
